Jodi petersen, phd
Petersen Research Consultants, LLC is led by Dr. Jodi Petersen. Jodi has a doctorate in Ecological-Community Psychology from Michigan State University and focuses on helping organizations define, gather, and use data to increase their impact. She is passionate about social justice and equity. She has expertise in systems change, facilitation, qualitative and quantitative data, and participatory research/evaluation methods.
Jodi believes that every person is an expert about their own lived experiences. They are the most powerful stakeholders in research and evaluation, not passive participants to extract data from. Nonprofit staff are experts in delivering their services; data shouldn't get in the way of that.
Jodi's job is to help nonprofits get the information they need to make informed decisions and increase their impact. She aims to do this without creating undue burden and while also building capacity and encouraging the empowerment of all stakeholders. She works with nonprofits who want a true partner and who truly desire to improve the lives of individuals and communities through their work.
Lisa Venema joined Petersen Research Consultants in June of 2019 as Director of Operations. Lisa’s zone of genius is taking the complex and breaking it down into clear, feasible processes. She leads the project management and back office operations of PRC in addition to heading up the logistics of PRC’s newly launching Data Impact Academy and Data Support Services work. Lisa previously has served as Senior Project Coordinator at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy’s Community Research Institute at Grand Valley State University. PRC is a values fit for Lisa as well, as she believes data is a key tool to moving the nonprofit and public sectors toward better outcomes. Lisa lives in Byron Center, Michigan with her husband and is a proud mom of three – Danielle, Luke, and Nolan.
